Who we are

MR Web Co, trading as MR Website (mr-website.co.za), is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy. We are a web design business based in Bellville, South Africa. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

• Enquiry and quote forms: your name, email address, phone or cell number, trade or business, company name, the message or project details you write, and (for quote requests) the package and options you select.
• Calls, WhatsApp and email: the details you share when you contact us directly, such as your name, number and the content of the conversation.
• Website usage data, only if you accept analytics cookies: pages visited, links clicked (such as phone, WhatsApp and email), approximate location, device and browser type, collected through Google Analytics.

Why we use it

We collect this information directly from you, and you provide it voluntarily. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

• To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, build and support your website.
• To understand which pages and enquiries work, so we can improve our website (analytics, with your consent).
• To keep business records and meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the website and respond to you:

• Netlify, which hosts this website and receives form submissions.
• Google, for Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies).
• Our email provider and messaging apps (such as WhatsApp) when we correspond with you.

Transfers outside South Africa

Some of these providers process information on servers outside South Africa, for example in the United States. We use providers that apply appropriate safeguards for personal information.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics cookies to measure how the website is used. They are switched off until you choose Accept in the cookie notice. If you choose Decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer, or by clearing your browser data.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and project information for as long as we need it to respond to you, deliver our services and keep business records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, unless the law requires us to keep it.

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information, including using secure (HTTPS) connections and limiting who can access form submissions.

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate or that we no longer need.
• Object to us processing your information, or withdraw your consent (this does not affect processing before you withdrew it).
• Complain to the Information Regulator if you believe we have not handled your information properly.
